Influence of static electricity on self-adhesive label making and printing in winter
The effect of static electricity on label processing
1. Printing
Appears as pinholes or missing dots on the label. Ink aggregation or repulsion, and discharge can cause the printed graphics to have a "lightning" shape.
2. Die cutting
The self-adhesive label is rolled with the waste, so the operator tends to put more pressure on the die-cutting knife, so the die-cutting knife can be easily worn or damaged.
3. Tension
When slitting and rewinding the film, excessive static electricity will cause uneven rewinding and cause glue overflow.
4. Lamination
The lamination layer is prematurely attached, resulting in uneven lamination.
5. Labeling
The bid cannot be issued normally, but runs with the backing paper.
6. Punch holes
cannot be eliminated.
7. Thermal transfer/laser printing quality
Some parts cannot be printed, and the printing is dark or light.
8. Processing of in-mold labels
Affects printing, die cutting, stacking, picking and positioning.
9. Absorb dust
Causes printing dirty spots. White spots appear on thermal transfer
How to remove static electricity
1. Wear electrostatic clothing
Operators at the self-adhesive label printing station must wear electrostatic clothing and electrostatic caps, which is the most direct and effective method.
2. Grounding method
The metal conductor is electrically connected to the earth, making it equipotential with the earth, and the electric charge leaks through the earth. For example, if we add static-removing copper wires, static ropes, etc. to the equipment, one end of the copper wire can also be connected to the equipment, and the other end is connected to the water pipe. This is the easiest way to eliminate static electricity, and it is also more effective.
3. Ion neutralization method
Ionize the air to generate positive and negative ions to neutralize the static elimination method on plastics, paper, ink, adhesives, etc.
4. Ambient relative humidity method
For example, the static electricity of paper, spray a certain amount of water on the paper or the floor, after being damped overnight, the static electricity can be eliminated and the printing can be started. Increasing the air humidity can reduce the generation of static electricity.
5. Electric Discharge Method
Install corona discharge or eliminator, or radioisotope electrical equipment to eliminate static electricity on packaging printing or laminating machines.
6. Antistatic agent method
Introduce an appropriate amount of opto-mechanical or organic antistatic agent into plastic, paper, ink, varnish, adhesive and other systems. Generally, 3-5% antistatic agent is mainly added to the varnish in label printing.
