HOW DOMED DECALS ARE MADE?
The dome starts out like any other vinyl decal. They can be four-color or spot color screen printing, UV offset, or digitally printed on white, mylar, or chrome high tack vinyl. Then kiss cut the decal. This means we cut the vinyl without cutting the backing material. Then remove the vinyl around the decal or label so we are left with an isolated sticker sheet.
Set up the dome machine so that a single nozzle is arranged in the position of each decal on the backing material; i.e., four rows of five, etc. The machine will then mix the two parts of the resin and pour it on top of each vinyl decal. The key step is to calculate the exact amount of resin to pour. It must be large enough to completely cover the surface of the decal without overshooting or stopping near the edge. After the dome is made, the decal will cure for 24 hours. What's left is a crystal clear, glossy 3-dimensional dome decal that's wearable and stunning.
About 90% of the dome decals we make are shipped in sheet form and then peeled off in our factory. The other 10% are die cut a second time to remove them from the paper backing sheet to form individual domes.
