What is an embossed nameplate?

The embossing process uses pressure and force to elevate text or visuals on a piece of metal. The metal of your choice is sandwiched between two die cuts (called female and male), which are then extruded and pressurized together. The end result is a raised text, similar to the text on a credit card, that stands out and is readable in all environments and conditions. Richi has a variety of standard stamping tool shapes such as rectangular, round and oval, with or without mounting holes for stamping brass shapes. Compressed gauges are typically between 0.5mm and 2.0mm or larger. To find out more about the shapes and sizes of punching tools carried by Richi, please contact one of our sales teams. If a specific shape is required that cannot be adjusted with stock stamping tools or other cutting methods, custom stamping tools can be manufactured to suit a customer's specific design.
