Do you offer different grades of stainless steel?

Richi offers our customers a choice of three different stainless steel grades. Each grade uses a different alloy mix with different properties and functions.

The first is the Model 201. It is the cheapest and most commonly used. This is because, for most applications, it is as good as any other grade of stainless steel. It won't rust and is very strong and heat resistant. However, it lacks the very high corrosion resistance of better grades. Color Filled Etching Metal Plates Stainless Tags are made of Stainless Steel 201.

Next, we offer the Model 304. It's a little pricey. It's not just because we have to pay more for the supplier's material, but because it's a harder material. Also, we are more difficult and slow to process. Tools for cutting, punching, blanking, shearing or rotary engraving stainless steel. When used to machine Type 304 stainless steel, this tool requires more beating. Therefore, it needs to be sanded and/or replaced more frequently. This greatly increases our processing costs.

Finally, the highest grade stainless steel we offer is Type 316. Again, it's slightly more expensive for the same reasons as the Model 304. However, Type 316 should only be used in the most extreme conditions resulting in corrosion to lower grades. For example, these conditions are typically continuous exposure to strong acid or alkaline materials. We have also encountered situations where Type 316 is specified in engineering drawings and must be used to meet project specifications.
